Widget behavior

Behaviour settings live under Widget → Behavior.

Triggers

Auto-open on page load opens the panel automatically when someone lands on the page.

Use this sparingly. It works well on a dedicated help or onboarding page, and badly on a homepage where it covers your content before the visitor has read anything. If you want auto-open in one place only, don't set it globally — use a page rule.

Show on mobile controls whether the launcher appears on small screens. It's on by default. Turn it off if your mobile layout is already tight, but bear in mind mobile visitors are often the ones who most need help.

AI Assistant

Enable AI responses toggles generated answers. With it off, the widget still works as search — visitors get matching articles, just without a written answer on top.

Turn it off if you'd rather visitors always read the source article, or while you're still filling gaps in your knowledge base and would prefer no answer to a thin one.

Show sources controls whether citations are displayed under each answer. Leave this on. Citations are what make an AI answer checkable, and visitors trust an answer they can verify.

Search results

Max results to show sets how many articles are listed beneath an answer. The default suits most sites. Raising it helps when your content is fine-grained and visitors benefit from picking between several near-matches.

Testing changes

Behaviour changes take effect on the next page load — the widget reads its config at runtime. If you don't see a change, hard-refresh to clear the cached script. See Changes aren't showing up.
